Carnival of Mathematics: Inaugural Edition
9th February 2007
by Alon
The first Carnival of Mathematics is up, after over a week of begging, whoring, bidding, and pimping. Most of the posts are purely mathematical, but some are about social attitudes to mathematics, and, in addition, Tyler has a great post debunking a creationist’s bad math.
Go read.

Thanks for the individual plug, Alon. I’m hoping I can get a post devoted exclusively to math (not debunking bad math) up before the next edition, and it will probably be the one I was working on but couldn’t make deadline for TCOM (preview: it was about low-level pseudorandom number generation, i.e., in ASM code, which gives you a pretty cool understanding of how computers pass statistical tests for randomness).

Welcome to Appletree, Tyler. I believe it’s your first comment here…
