Remember when Nancy Pelosi came under fire for wearing a scarf during a visit to the Middle East? The racists and anti-Muslim bigots became so outraged that they nearly soiled themselves when this photo hit the newswires (link link link):
At the time, Maha uncovered photos of Laura Bush and Condi Rice showing deference to local culture during trips to the Middle East, but none of the wingnuts seemed to think it necessary to inform their readers or to apologize to Speaker Pelosi. Now Laura Bush has gone and done it again, and not with a Western headscarf, but with an authentic hijab given to her during a visit to Saudi Arabia. I wonder if any of the hypocritical bigots on the right will say anything?
