Iraq war ‘violated rule of law’
Former attorney general Lord Goldsmith defended his legal advice
Legal advice given to Tony Blair by the attorney general prior to the Iraq war was fundamentally “flawed,” a former law lord has claimed.
Lord Bingham said Lord Goldsmith had given Mr Blair “no hard evidence” that Iraq had defied UN resolutions “in a manner justifying resort to force”.

Therefore, the action by the UK and US was “a serious violation of international law,” Lord Bingham added.
Don’t ask us how, but we’ve somehow managed to summon up sufficient super-human strength to stop ourselves from taking to the streets, screaming to everyone in sight: “We told you so.”

Sad to say, this is no news to many of us on both sides of the Atlantic, just confirmation of what so many refused to listen to all along and still do.

How can we take a guy who wears such ridiculous clothing seriously?

Iraq war is a serious war crime no matter how they cut it.
We gonna pay war reparation to the kilt after this is over.

Squashed–
I doubt the US will pay much in the way of reparations. American politicians on both sides of the aisle are already washing their hands of the death and destruction brought about by the war, as well as the refugee crisis.

Reparations? It’s the Iraqis who owe us big time, man! Their oil revenues are supposed to cover the cost for all the hard work we did.
November 19th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
yeah they still owe us that flowers and candies too.

How can you expect the Iraqis to foot a bill for something they never agreed to, where they had no control over the massive cost overruns, where deadlines were missed by a mile, and for which they have never had a bill presented?
That isn’t very business like. It was all funny money anyway, just the blood, suffering and tears were real all around and the war profiteers take, of course.

I’m pretty sure we did get promised sweets and flowers by Ahmed Chalabi, and he’s Iraqi.
